To die each day.

If you have ever studied any martial art or read some of the most famous books about them, you may have found quotes like “The warrior must accept death”, “Go into battle knowing he will die” and such.

Well, this idea was what actually triggered this post , because the question I have (in my opinion way too many times) is: Why do martial arts talk about embracing death? Aren’t you supposed to train specifically to avoid death?  (Give or take a few words, but most of the time, thats kind of the question)

Well martial arts, they do talk a lot about death, dying and being willing to accept death.

But,  why would anyone want to accept something so…negative?

Being willing to die everyday means being ready to leave our comfort zone, our beliefs, our prejudices, and disintegrate in the NOW…to reinvent ourselves.

I know that, nowadays we are not SO exposed to death as a samurai was some years ago when they started embracing death, but does this means that the idea is old fashioned and outdated??

I believe otherwise!, this idea is today as strong as it’s ever been.

Just look around you and you will realize there are tons of people spending their lives in a routine, a “safe” routine, but this does not mean they’ve used all the potential they have, it just means they’ve limited themselves due to their own fears and insecurities.

However, when we stay inside our comfort zone, locked behind our prejudices and dogmas, are we really avoiding death?

Years ago, when the warrior embraced death, he could fight to death without fears, and thus, without any limitation, yet, if he was fearful, he would find himslef frozen in place, fearing for his life, and probably, dead.

As I mentioned in my first post(or maybe not, this post I brought all the way from my very first blog), every now and then I go to help wherever I may be of need, which ocasionally takes me to places where there has been a disaster, or the like, and it is here where i’ve been able to see this rule come to life, those in peril who accept the situation they are in, are able to think better, and start DOING something about it, therefore have less chances of being harmed, while the ones who freeze out of fear, well, they tend to make things worst.

This rule becomes true not only for life or death scenarios, for example, if an enterprise is going trough trouble, it must be able to move, to make desicions and to act!, otherwise, it is more likely to fail and go broke.

This goes as well for people!! We can’t afford to freeze in place because we are feeling safe, we must reinvent ourselves, become better and lose fear to failure, should it come, we should just learn from it and carry on!

Well that’s it, without anything else to ramble about for now, I thank you for reading my ramblings, and invite you to die everyday, and to be reborn every single day better than you already are!

That’s it for this post; let me know what you think and what life rules you’ve found in your path! You can leave a comment below or send me a mail to bosscodex@outlook.com and let me know your thoughts or what you’d like to see posted in the future! Thanks for reading and see you next post!
